Create shelves where you need them, not where a kitchen designer advises you to have them.
Since moving in to my new home with very few kitchen cupboards, I needed space to store my pet food and other pet related things so I created a shelf, the right size to store them whilst still utilising the rest of the cupboard for my recycling bins!
Using two batons, screwed in and having found a spare shelf at the bottom or the cupboard (however buying mdf cut to size is also an option which is what I’m doing for another cupboard), you create an area that suits you!
Have you got space at the top of a cupboard that’s not being used? Well, use it!
